I am not an expert at the Tarot. I am not even an amateur. But in creating this program, I have gained an impression about how Tarot reading is done.

1. The best way is to learn what the card pictures depict.

For example, what does the following card depict?

Someone giving to the poor, right? Well this card might mean charity, a kind soul, etc...

Is there a right answer? No. Ask what the card means to 'you'. This is your reading.

Ask yourself; What emotions are expressed? What actions are taking place?

2. Do not read the cards in isolation. They all work together to 'weave' an answer or a reading.

3. There are different 'spreads' which are read in different ways.

The simplest is the 3 card spread or Past, Present, Future reading. The first card relates to the past, the second to the present, etc.

If there is a strong theme between the cards focus on that.

If the cards are upside down, the meaning can be reversed. Note: It is not mandatory that you read upside down cards differently. It is a personal choice.

4. Remember, read the cards the way you want! It is your spread and your interpretation that is important.

5. Example:

Past: Cups generally tend to deal with spiritual matters. States of mind. The young knight is very much like a teen. What is the mind of a typical teen like? Lethargic? Interested in material things instead of spiritual things?

Present: Someone looking into the clouds with all sorts of strange objects. A dreamer? Someone not focused on one thing?

Future: Wands tend to deal with action, activity or effort. The young page suggests the actions of a young boy. He seems to be on the verge of delivering his message. Perhaps an outburst of some sort is coming.

Pentacles: Deal with money, riches and material things.

Swords: Conflict, relationships, contact and interacting with others. Successes and failures.

Together the reading might be: You are currently distracted, perhaps due to a dissatisfaction with a lack of spiritual aspect in your life. This will manifest itself in a strong display of focus when you figure out what is really important in life.

How this reading relates to me: It just so happens that I am looking for direction at this time in my life. I have always held wealth as a symbol of success. It hasn't brought me the happiness I thought it would. I am exploring new avenues in an attempt to find myself and have a real direction.
